In 2006 we launched a new part of our vision for youth development and invited seven veteran Rockmonters on a journey to provide hurricane relief in Mississippi. What we discovered changed our lives and will shape our new program, Adventure Outreach.
Faithtrek - Bolivia '08
When: Our trip begins at Camp Rockmont on June 29th and ends at camp on July 9th. We will be in Bolivia for at least nine days.
Where: Our adventure starts and ends in Miami, so please factor transportation to and from camp into your planning. After some climate and cultural education at the Miami airport we will fly by way of LaPaz to Cochabomba, Bolivia.
Why: This trip is not about being charitable, it is about being faithful. Participants will be surprised at how much we are able to give to the people of Bolivia in this relatively short visit. However, we are convinced that participants will be more surprised at what they each gain in return. We’re obviously not talking about material gain. We plan to explore issues of language, relief, development, generosity and faithfulness with a people who have much to teach!
How Much: Each participant must pay $2375. The fee includes ground transportation and airfare from Miami. Other necessary expenses include passport, immunization, insurance and hiking gear.
